Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Greenpower creates, manufactures and distributes an entire range of heavy- and medium-duty electric vehicles. This includes school cargo buses, buses for cargo and shuttles.

EV Star is a highly customizable, zero-emission vehicle that's fully FTA certified, Altoona tested and Buy America certified. It comes with a world-class range and ADA wheelchair accessibility. It also has cargo delivery configurations.

GreenPower Motor Company produces a full line of high-floor as well as low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship model, and it is able to be adapted to meet a variety of applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows for optimal battery pack placement and lower center of gravity, resulting in better payload-to-range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries and catering applications. The refrigerated trucks of class 4' one interior wall structure and a higher insulation level than conventional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer life span. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity, and an industry-leading payload to reach the range of zero-emission goods or passenger transportation.

GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will allow fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be capable of wireless charging of 75 kW.

We were capable of testing the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours, and found it to be easy to drive, and comfortable to drive over long distances. The EV9 is able to suppress road noise and wind while on the highway. It glides effortlessly over ruts and humps. The acceleration is extremely quick, and the car comes with adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.

The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully charged within three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode is a preference for torque and cruise control, while the sport mode increases speed and handling. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer an unique experience for anyone who has never been in an electric vehicle before.

GreenPower offers a variety of other electric vehicles that include a multi-purpose all-electric minibus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used for executive shuttles, microtransit and transit buses, vanpools, or paratransit vehicles.

GreenPower is currently producing around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of older diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration planning to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming.  green power scooter  makes them eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it makes its public demonstration tour later this year. We'll be sure to provide more information on this EV that is truly innovative!
